Dressage

After 9 years of living in New Zealand my daughter Leia is back living in the UK. In May this year she was competing at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre just outside Gloucester. The weather was not good it rained for most of the Dressage Test still it gave me the opportunity to take some shots of her and her horse Herman, taking me back to the many hours I have spent in cold wet surroundings photography my daughter whilst she competed in Equestrian events when she was a child.

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Just received an e-mail from a company called The Westminster Collection who produce and sell via mail order collectable coin and stamp products, e,g, First Day Covers etc.
They are currently working on a project to produce stamp covers for each of the towns/cities visited by the Torch Relay in the run-up to the Olympic Games. The covers will be seen all over the country and bought by both stamp collectors and members of the public wishing to commemorate the event
As the torch will be visiting Bristol they have ask if they could use my photo of the Clifton Suspension Bridge on their stamp cover design.

Ruby & Tilly

Towards the end of last year a friend asked me if I would take some photos of his two daughters, Ruby & Tilly, the venue was to be their home & garden. I must add that the two girls were a delight and a credit to their parents and an enjoyable and successful photo session followed, here are some photos from the day.

New Zealand

In February this year I went to New Zealand to visit my daughter Leia who is now living in Wellington. During my visit I went to Queensland on the South Island and well you cannot go there and not do a Bungy from the famous Kawarau Bridge.

The first commercial Bungy Jumping operation started from this bridge in 1988 by AJ Hackett.

The bridge platform is 43 metres above the Kawarau River and the jumper has the option of a head and shoulders splashdown in the river if you feel like cooling off.

The Kawarau Bridge Bungy - home to the original 43metre Bungy Jump.

If you've heard of Bungy, you've heard of Kawarau. The world's first and most infamous of leaps.

If you are ever in Queensland do it, you won't regret it

Bristol Strobist Event

On 7th Nov it was off to Hilperton near Bradford-on-Avon for a Bristol Strobist Flickr Group shoot organised by Ben. He had cleared out his friends workshop to build 3 sets for this Calender Workshop Event. There were 3 Models, 6 Photographers and 1 Make Up-Artist + Ben the organiser and Ben (Mk2) the owner of the workshop.

The 2 Ben's did a great job as hosts, making us all welcome and looking after the models, as well as providing sandwiches and refreshment for us all.
